Sweet N Green Café, LEO Energy Efficiency Grant

Situated in the heart of Ennis Co Clare, Sweet N Green Cafe has become a beloved spot for locals and visitors. Siobhain Landy opened the café in 2018 with a clear vision to create more than just a café, but to build a space for the community. The rising cost of living and increasing operational costs made it difficult to manage. Siobhain realised that changes needed to be made to ensure the business could remain sustainable. The Green for Business program Energy Efficiency Grant gave her the guidance she needed to make the café more energy efficient and environmentally friendly. By reducing costs, she was better able to manage wages, retain staff and maintain that essential work-life balance for everyone. Siobhan was  able to upgrade the lighting to LED. She also replaced the older blast chiller and rented chilled fridge with new, energy-efficient models. These changes made a huge difference, not just in terms of cost savings but also in reducing their environmental footprint which is incredibly important. This experience showed us how crucial it is to step back and take advantage of programs that support growth and improvement.
